Upon arrival at PDX, a traveler approached United Airline’s baggage team in tears – she lost three rings inflight, including her wedding ring. While on board, the customer had ordered a snackbox and, after she was finished, she placed the rings in the box for safe keeping. She fell asleep and her husband, believing the box to be trash, gave it to the flight attendant. Determined to return the rings to the customer, Lead Customer Service Representative Kelly Pederson requested all the trash bags from the flight. With the help of Ramp Technician Carrol Buczarski, the two went through every bag of garbage until they found the rings – still safe in the snackbox.
As we often see at America’s Best Airport, Kelly and Carrol went above and beyond to save the day. Share your story of outstanding PDX customer service at PDXcustomerservice@PortofPortland.com.
