‘Feast’ on Local Flavors All Month at PDX

What does bacon, beer and a Bahn mi sandwich have in common with Portland International Airport? Each of those items is on the menu in August as part of the airport’s partnership with Feast Portland, the Pacific Northwest’s flagship food and drink festival.

Feast Fridays, which kicked off Aug. 3 with a limited-edition Feast Portland BLT by The Country Cat, will feature a new Feast-inspired item for sampling in Clocktower Plaza and for purchase at participating concessionaires’ retail space at PDX. Additionally, travelers can enter to win two Feast Portland “The Package” passes for life as part of the “Feast For Life FlyPDX” campaign and social media giveaway.

As noted by Curtis Robinhold, our Port of Portland executive director, “The Feast partnership allows us to showcase the local flavors that are a key part of the PDX experience. Our homegrown restaurants, recognized around the globe, offer a special welcome for travelers to Portland.”

Details of the Feast-inspired items available throughout August are as follows (items rotate every Friday):

  • Aug. 10-16—Kenny and Zuke’s Delicatessen will unveil a Pastrami Bahn Mi sandwich, made with country pork pate, Asian pickled cucumbers and a spicy wasabi mayo.
  • Aug. 17-23Deschutes Brewery’s Backyard BBQ burger features two quarter pound Painted Hills beef patties, Havarti cheese, pork belly confit, house made barbecue sauce and crispy onion straws, all of which will pile onto braised collard greens. The sandwich is being paired with a Black Butte Porter.
  • Aug. 24-31—Stumptown Coffee Roasters and Feast Portland will premiere the Mora Mora Ethiopia Heirloom special batch canned cold brew.

Since 1988, PDX has been committed to representing local business, offering street pricing and serving travelers 365 days a year. Capture the fun by snapping a photo and entering the contest with tags #FeastForLifeFlyPDX and #CP30PDX.
