Go Behind-the-Scenes with the PDX Symphony (Video)

An airport is like an orchestra, where vehicles, bags, planes and people work in harmony to create a symphony of hands and wheels, hospitality and commerce.

Go behind-the-scenes to see how the Portland International Airport symphony is created and what it takes to make beautiful music for our more than 19 million passengers—a fifth consecutive annual travel record. Featured are:

  • First chair—The 10,000 PDX people who make us America’s Best Airport.
  • Brass—Horns and honks of the thousands of vehicles that traverse airport roadways each month.
  • Percussion—Baggage that makes a steady journey from the ticket counter to the belly of the plane.
  • Woodwinds—Planes that take to the air to transport you to destinations near and far.
